High-Voltage 11kv Polymeric Expulsion Drop Out Fuse Cutout Switch

The drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout are essential outdoor high-voltage protective devices. They seamlessly connect with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines, providing robust protection from short circuits, overloads, and facilitating efficient on/off loading current management. The drop-out fuse cutout consists of insulate insulator supports and a fuse tube, where static contacts are securely fixed on both sides of the insulator support, while the moving contact is expertly installed at the ends of the fuse tube. This advanced fuse tube features an inside arc-extinguishing tube, complemented by an outer phenolic compound paper tube or an epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout comes with reinforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring seamless switching of on-off loading currents, offering unmatched reliability and performance.
Under normal operating conditions, the fuse link is securely tightened, fixing the fuse tube in a closed position. Should a system fault occur, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, creating an electric arc. This activates the arc-extinguishing tube, which rapidly heats, releasing a significant amount of gas, generating high pressure and driving the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tightened strength, prompting the mechanism to lock and the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning the cutout to an open position. To switch off during cutout loading, an operator should use an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain connected. As pulling continues, the auxiliary contact separates, generating an electric arc between the auxiliary contacts. This arc extends within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, while the arc-extinguishing system generates explosive gas to safely blow off the arc as the current approaches zero, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
