Our Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are meticulously engineered outdoor high voltage protective devices. Seamlessly integrated with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines, these devices are crucial in safeguarding transformers and lines against short circuits and overloads while facilitating seamless on/off loading. The drop-out fuse cutout is a sophisticated assembly of durable insulator supports and a robust fuse tube. Static contacts are strategically affixed on both sides of the insulator support, while the moving contact is precisely installed at the ends of the fuse tube. This advanced fuse tube features an interior arc-extinguishing tube, encased within a sturdy phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout boasts reinforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an expertly designed arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring efficient switching of on-off loading currents.
During normal operation, the fuse link tightly secures the fuse tube, maintaining a closed position. Upon detecting a fault in the system, the resultant fault current promptly melts the fuse, initiating an electrical arc. This triggers the arc-extinguishing tube to heat up, generating a substantial volume of gas. Consequently, high pressure is created, propelling the arc along the tube. Upon the fuse link melting, the moving contact loses its tension, unlocking the mechanism and allowing the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning the cutout to an open position. For switching off during cutout loading, operators employ an insulating operating bar to maneuver the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts remain engaged. As the auxiliary contact is disengaged, an electric arc forms, elongating within the arc-extinguishing enclosure. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing gas bursts forth, effectively extinguishing the arc as the current crosses zero.
