24kV 100A & 200A Distribution Dropout Fuse Cutout with High-Reliability Fuse Link
The drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout are sophisticated outdoor high voltage protective devices. Expertly engineered to integrate with the incoming feeder of a distribution transformer or distribution lines, they primarily safeguard transformers or lines against potential short circuits and overloads, while seamlessly managing on/off loading currents. The dropout fuse cutout features robust insulator supports and a durable fuse tube. Static contacts are securely positioned on either side of the insulator support, and dynamic contacts are precisely installed at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself is an innovation, comprising an internal arc-extinguishing tube, encased within either a phenolic compound paper tube or an epoxy glass tube. The advanced load switching fuse cutout further enhances functionality with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure to efficiently manage the on-off switching of loading currents.
During optimal operation, the fuse link tightly secures the fuse tube in a closed position. If the system encounters a fault, the fault current prompts the fuse to melt instantaneously, initiating an electrical arc. This reaction heats the arc-extinguishing tube, causing it to expel a significant volume of gas. This creates a high-pressure environment, driving the arc's displacement along the tube. After the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, and the mechanism engages, causing the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning the cutout to an open position. For operational switching during cutout loading, an operator uses an insulating operating bar to engage the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged. As the auxiliary contact separates, an electric arc forms between the auxiliary contacts, which is then elongated within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Concurrently, arc-extinguishing gas is expelled to extinguish the arc as the current passes through zero.
