36kV Expulsion Load Break Fuse Cutout

The drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout are pivotal outdoor high-voltage protective devices. These are intricately designed for integration with the incoming feeder of a distribution transformer or distribution lines. Their primary function is to safeguard transformers or lines from potential hazards such as short circuits and overloads while managing on/off loading currents efficiently. The drop-out fuse cutout is ingeniously constructed with insulated supports and a robust fuse tube. Static contacts are strategically fixed on the sides of the insulator support, while the moving contact is adeptly installed at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself boasts an inner arc-extinguishing tube, encased within an outer phenolic compound paper tube or a durable epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout is further enhanced with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and a specialized arc-extinguishing enclosure for seamless switching of loading currents.
Under normal operating conditions, with the fuse link tightened, the fuse tube is securely fixed, achieving a closed position. In the event of system faults, the fault current causes the fuse to melt immediately, generating an electric arc. This results in the arc-extinguishing tube being heated, releasing a substantial amount of gas, creating high pressure to blow out the arc alongside the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, causing the mechanism to lock and the fuse tube to drop out, switching the cutout to an open position. For switching off during cutout loading, operators must use an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged, but as the pulling continues, the auxiliary contact separates, producing an electric arc. This arc extends in the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, and simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing gas explodes to extinguish the arc as the current passes through zero.
