Outdoor Porcelain Ceramic Drop-out Fuse Cutout for Electric Power Transformer

The drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout are sophisticated outdoor high-voltage protective devices. Designed to seamlessly connect with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, they primarily safeguard transformers or lines from potential short circuits and overloads, and facilitate on/off loading currents. The drop-out fuse cutout features a robust structure composed of insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube. Static contacts are firmly mounted on both sides of the insulator support, while the moving contact is expertly positioned at each end of the fuse tube. This tube is ingeniously constructed with an inside arc-extinguishing tube, encased in an outer layer of phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout boasts enhanced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, offering exceptional performance in switching on-off loading current.
Under normal operational conditions, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube is securely fastened, maintaining a closed position. Should a system fault arise, the resulting fault current promptly causes the fuse to melt, releasing an electric arc. This heats the arc-extinguishing tube, generating an explosive expulsion of gas, which creates high pressure to blow the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, the mechanism unlocks, and the fuse tube drops out, transitioning the cutout to an open position. For switching off during cutout loading, operators can use an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact maintains contact with the auxiliary static contact. As it is pulled, the auxiliary contact separates, creating an electric arc. This arc extends within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, where the generated gas effectively extinguishes the arc at the zero current passage.
