11kv Polymeric Expulsion Fuse Cut Out Switch
The Drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout are essential high voltage protective devices designed for outdoor applications. These devices are pivotal in safeguarding distribution transformers or lines by connecting with incoming feeder lines to protect against short circuits and overloads, ensuring efficient on/off loading and current flow management. The Drop-out fuse cutout features insulated insulator supports and a robust fuse tube. Its static contacts are securely fixed on both sides of the insulator support, while a moving contact is meticulously installed at the ends of the fuse tube. This fuse tube is ingeniously constructed with an internal arc-extinguishing tube, encased in a durable outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout further enhances functionality with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an advanced arc-extinguishing enclosure, expertly engineered to manage on-off loading currents with precision.
Under normal operating conditions, the fuse link tightens the fuse tube into a secure closed position. Should a fault occur within the system, the resulting fault current promptly melts the fuse, generating an electric arc that triggers the arc-extinguishing tube to heat up and release a significant amount of gas. This process creates high pressure that expels the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, the mechanism locks, and the fuse tube drops out, transitioning the cutout to an open position. During load switching cutout operations, an operator uses an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged. As the operator continues to pull, the auxiliary contact separates, generating an electric arc between the auxiliary contacts. The arc extends within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, simultaneously triggering a release of arc-extinguishing gas to extinguish the arc as the current approaches zero.
