Outdoor Porcelain Ceramic Drop-out Fuse Cutout for Electric Power Transformers

Our Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are expertly engineered outdoor high voltage protective devices. These units are designed to connect with incoming feeders of distribution transformers or distribution lines. They primarily safeguard transformers and lines from potential short circuits, overloads, and manage on/off loading currents efficiently. The Drop-out Fuse Cutout is constructed with insulating insulator supports and a robust fuse tube. Static contacts are securely mounted on both sides of the insulator support, while the moving contact is positioned on the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube is ingeniously crafted from an internal arc-extinguishing tube, encased in an outer layer made of phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. The Load Switching Fuse Cutout is further enhanced with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure to effectively manage on-off load currents.
During normal operations, the fuse link tightly secures the fuse tube in a closed position. If a system fault arises, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, generating an electric arc. This arc heats the arc-extinguishing tube, causing it to release a significant amount of gas. This high-pressure gas displaces the arc within the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, the mechanism locks, and the fuse tube drops out, shifting the cutout to an open position. To switch off during cutout loading, operators use an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged. As pulling continues, the auxiliary contact disengages, creating an electric arc. The arc is elongated within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, and simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing gas is released, effectively quenching the arc as the current crosses zero.
