36kV High Voltage Porcelain Fuse Cutout Switch

Our sophisticated drop-out and load switching fuse cutouts are expertly engineered for outdoor use as high-voltage protective devices. Seamlessly connect them with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines to provide robust protection against short circuits and overloads, while efficiently managing on/off loading currents. The design features a sturdy insulator support with a fuse tube, secured by static contacts on each side and a moving contact at the ends. Crafted from an inner arc-extinguishing tube and an outer shell of phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass, the load switching fuse cutout is equipped with enhanced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for smooth current flow and reliable protection.
Under normal operating conditions, the fuse link secures the fuse tube in a closed position. In the event of a fault, the fuse melts instantly, generating an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing high-pressure gas and causing the arc to dissipate along the tube. This process leads to the fuse tube being released due to a lack of tension, transitioning the cutout to an open position. For load switching operations, the operator uses an insulating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts remain engaged, creating an electric arc that expands within the arc-extinguishing enclosure and is effectively extinguished as the current reaches zero, ensuring safe and reliable switching.
