Outdoor Porcelain Ceramic Drop-out Fuse Cutout for Electric Power Transformer

Our Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are advanced outdoor high-voltage protective devices designed to seamlessly integrate with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines. Their main function is to provide robust protection from short circuits and overloads, while also facilitating smooth on/off load current switching. This state-of-the-art device consists of insulating supports, a dynamic fuse tube, and static contacts affixed to the insulator support, with moving contacts elegantly installed at the tube ends. The fuse tube is ingeniously crafted with an arc-extinguishing inner tube and an outer shell of phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass. The load switching fuse cutout is equipped with special auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure to ensure efficient on-off loading.
In normal operations, a fully tightened fuse link secures the fuse tube in a closed position. Should a fault arise, the fault current causes the fuse to melt, releasing an electric arc. This activates the arc-extinguishing tube, generating substantial gas pressure to drive the arc along the tube. Post-melting, the moving contact loses its tension, triggering the mechanism to unlock and the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning the cutout to an open position. For switching off during loading, operators use an insulating bar to pull the moving contact, initially maintaining connection via the main contact and auxiliary static contact. As the auxiliary contact separates, an electric arc forms, expands in the arc-extinguishing gap, and is eventually quenched by the gas explosion at current zero passage.
