36kV Expulsion Load Break Fuse Cutout

The drop-out fuse cutout and the load switching fuse cutout are advanced high-voltage protective devices designed for outdoor use. Expertly engineered to connect with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines, these devices provide exceptional protection against short circuits and overloads, while seamlessly managing on/off loading and current flow. The drop-out fuse cutout comprises insulated insulator supports paired with a fuse tube. Static contacts are securely fastened on either side of the insulator support, while moving contacts are strategically placed at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself features an internal arc-extinguishing component and is encased in an outer layer of phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. Additionally, the load switching fuse cutout is equipped with enhanced elastic auxiliary contacts and a sophisticated arc-extinguishing enclosure for efficient on-off loading current management.
Under normal operating conditions, the fuse link securely attaches to the fuse tube, creating a closed position. When faults occur in the system, the resulting fault current causes the fuse to melt instantly, leading to the formation of an electric arc. This triggers the arc-extinguishing tube to heat up and release a substantial amount of gas, creating high pressure that propels the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, activating the lock mechanism and allowing the fuse tube to drop, transitioning the cutout into an open position. During cutout loading operations that require switching off, an operator should use an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact remains engaged with the auxiliary static contact, but as pulling continues, the auxiliary contact separates, forming an electric arc. This arc elongates within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, while the arc-extinguishing gas swiftly extinguishes it as the current crosses zero.
