At normal operational voltages, the current through this arrester remains exceptionally low, at microampere or milliampere levels. However, upon encountering overvoltage, its resistance dramatically decreases, allowing the energy of the overvoltage to be swiftly discharged, thus providing unparalleled protection. Unlike conventional arresters, ours features a design without a discharge gap, leveraging the nonlinear properties of zinc oxide to effectively manage leakage and interruption. Should protection fail or be absent, the consequences can be dire, with potential lightning strikes unleashing thousands of volts upon electrical systems, posing significant risks to transmission lines and inflicting severe damage on transformers and other critical electrical equipment..
