36kV Expulsion Load Break Fuse Cutout

The drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout serve as robust outdoor high voltage protective devices. Designed to seamlessly integrate with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines, they primarily safeguard transformers or lines from short circuits and overloads while managing the on/off loading of current. The drop-out fuse cutout is ingeniously constructed with insulated insulator supports and a fuse tube. Static contacts are securely affixed on both sides of the insulator support, while the moving contact is skillfully installed at both ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself is an engineering marvel, consisting of an internal arc-extinguishing tube, encased in an outer layer of either phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass. The load switching fuse cutout is reinforced with resilient elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure that efficiently manages the switching on-off loading current.
Under normal operational conditions, the fuse link is diligently tightened, securing the fuse tube in a closed position. Should a fault occur in the system, the resulting fault current causes the fuse to melt instantly, unleashing an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing a surge of gas. This gas generates high pressure, propelling the electric arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tensioned position, triggering the mechanism to lock, allowing the fuse tube to drop out, thereby shifting the cutout to an open position. For instances requiring cutout loading to be switched off, an operator can use an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged. As the pull continues, the auxiliary contact disconnects, creating an electric arc between the auxiliary contacts. This arc is then elongated in the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, where the arc-extinguishing system bursts out gas to extinguish the arc as the current passes zero.
