33kv Polymeric Expulsion Fuse Cut Out Switch

The drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout are essential outdoor high voltage protective devices. Designed to connect seamlessly with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, these devices are vital in safeguarding transformers and lines against short circuits and overloads while providing efficient on/off load switching. The drop-out fuse cutout comprises insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts affixed on either side of the support and a moving contact at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself features an inside arc-extinguishing tube crafted from outer phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass. The load switching fuse cutout enhances this system with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring seamless switching of on-off loading current.
In regular operation, the fuse link secures the fuse tube in a closed position. However, in the event of system faults, the fault current swiftly causes the fuse to melt, releasing an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube. This reaction generates a high-pressure gas flow, propelling the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact releases, unlocking the mechanism and allowing the fuse tube to drop out, thus opening the cutout. For load switching, an operator uses an insulating operating bar to manipulate the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts remain connected, but as the contact is pulled, an electric arc forms between the auxiliary contacts. This arc extends within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, and the structure releases a gas to extinguish the arc as the current approaches zero.
