High-Voltage 11kv Polymeric Expulsion Dropout Fuse Cutout Switch

The drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout are essential outdoor high-voltage protective devices. These robust components are strategically connected to the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines. Their primary role is safeguarding transformers or lines against short circuits, overloads, and regulating load currents. The drop-out fuse cutout is meticulously crafted with insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube. Static contacts are securely affixed on both sides of the insulator support, while a dynamic moving contact is positioned at each end of the fuse tube. Within the fuse tube lies the arc-extinguishing tube, encased by an exterior phenolic compound paper tube or an epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout is enhanced with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and a sophisticated arc-extinguishing enclosure to manage on-off loading current with precision.
In normal operation, the fuse link is meticulously tightened, securing the fuse tube in a closed position. When a fault arises in the system, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, triggering an electric arc. This sequence heats the arc-extinguishing tube, causing a rapid release of gas, which in turn generates high pressure and propels the arc along the tube. As the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, the mechanism disengages, and the fuse tube drops out, switching the cutout to an open position. During load switching operations, the operator uses an insulating operating bar to deftly maneuver the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts remain connected. As the operator continues, the auxiliary contacts separate, creating an electric arc. This arc elongates within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, and the arc-extinguishing system releases gas to extinguish the arc as the current reaches zero.
