Outdoor Porcelain Ceramic Drop-out Fuse Cutout for Electric Power Transformers

Our Drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout are high-performance, outdoor-used protective devices for high voltage applications. These essential components are designed to be connected with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines. Their primary purpose is to guard transformers and lines against short circuits and overloads, while seamlessly managing on/off loading current. Each Drop-out fuse cutout comprises robust insulate insulator supports and a precision-engineered fuse tube. The static contacts are carefully mounted on both sides of the insulator support, while the moving contact is strategically installed at both ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself is expertly crafted from an inner arc-extinguishing tube, nested within an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout is equipped with elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring efficient switching of on-off loading currents.
Under regular operational conditions, with a tightly secured fuse link, the fuse tube remains fixed in a closed position. When system faults arise, the ensuing fault current causes the fuse to melt instantaneously, igniting an electric arc. This occurrence heats the arc-extinguishing tube, leading to a rapid expulsion of gas. Consequently, high-pressure builds and follows the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, thereby locking the mechanism and allowing the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning the cutout to an open position. For switching off during cutout loading, operators can use an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged, but as the auxiliary contact separates, an electric arc emerges. This arc elongates within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap and, as the current approaches zero, the arc-extinguishing gas erupts to extinguish the arc efficiently.
