Our Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are cutting-edge outdoor high voltage protective devices. Perfectly engineered to connect with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, they offer unparalleled protection against short circuits, overloads, and ensure seamless on/off loading of current. The design incorporates robust insulated insulator supports, complemented by a precision-engineered fuse tube. Static contacts are securely affixed on both sides of the insulator support, while a dynamic moving contact is anchored at the fuse tube's ends. The fuse tube itself is a masterpiece, featuring an internal arc-extinguishing tube, wrapped with an outer layer of phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass. The load switching fuse cutout takes it a step further with enhanced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring smooth current switching.
Under normal operations, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube is securely fixed in a closed position. When a fault arises, the resultant fault current causes the fuse to melt instantly, igniting an electric arc. This phenomenon heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing a burst of gas that generates high pressure to extinguish the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, the mechanism locks, triggering the fuse tube to drop out, indicating an open position. For intentional load switching, operators can effortlessly use an insulating bar to draw the moving contact. Initially, both the main and auxiliary static contacts remain engaged. As the auxiliary contact withdraws, an electric arc forms and lengthens within the arc-extinguishing enclosure. Simultaneously, a gas explosion within the enclosure extinguishes the arc as the current hits zero.
