36kV High Voltage Porcelain Fuse Cutout Switch

The drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout, designed for outdoor use, are essential high-voltage protective devices. They serve the crucial role of connecting to the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, safeguarding them from short circuits, overloads, and managing on/off load currents. The drop-out fuse cutout features insulating supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts firmly affixed to the insulator's sides, and a dynamic contact positioned at each fuse tube end. The fuse tube itself is crafted from an internal arc-extinguishing tube, encased in an outer phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. Moreover, the load switching fuse cutout incorporates robust elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, expertly handling on-off loading currents.
Under normal conditions, when the fuse link is secured, the fuse tube is locked in a closed position. Should a fault occur, the fault current instantaneously melts the fuse, causing an electric arc. This arc heats the arc-extinguishing tube, generating gases that build pressure and propel within the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact is released, and the mechanism disengages, leading the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning the cutout to an open state. For switching off under load, an operator uses an insulated bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts remain engaged. As pulling continues, the auxiliary contacts separate, creating an electric arc. This arc is stretched within the arc-extinguishing enclosure's gap, and simultaneously, gases are expelled to effectively extinguish the arc as the current approaches zero.
