Outdoor Porcelain Ceramic Drop-out Fuse Cutout for Electric Power Transformer

The drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout are robust, high-voltage outdoor protective devices designed to ensure the safety and longevity of electrical power systems. Seamlessly integrated into the incoming feeder lines of distribution transformers or distribution networks, these devices are pivotal in safeguarding transformers and power lines against the perils of short circuits and overloads. By facilitating efficient on/off current loading, the device's architecture encompasses insulated supports, a fuse tube, and securely fixed static contacts on the insulator's sides. The dynamic moving contact is affixed to the fuse tube's ends, which contains an arc-extinguishing tube within a resilient phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass exterior. Moreover, the load switching fuse cutout is equipped with reinforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure that adeptly manages the on-off load current.
In regular operational conditions, the fuse link secures the fuse tube, holding it firmly in a closed position. However, when a fault emerges within the system, the resultant fault current swiftly melts the fuse, instigating an electric arc. This prompts the arc-extinguishing tube to generate an expansive amount of gas, resulting in high pressure that propels the arc along the tube. Upon the fuse link melting, the moving contact loses its tension, triggering the mechanism to release and allowing the fuse tube to drop out, thus transitioning the cutout to an open state. For switching off during loading, operators utilize an insulating operating bar to disengage the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary contacts remain connected, but as the auxiliary contacts separate, an electric arc forms. This arc elongates in the arc-extinguishing enclosure, with generated gas effectively extinguishing the arc as the current approaches zero.
