High-Voltage 11kv Polymeric Expulsion Drop-out Fuse Cutout Switch

The drop-out fuse cutout and load-switching fuse cutout are state-of-the-art outdoor high-voltage protective devices. Designed to seamlessly connect with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines, these devices principally shield transformers and lines from potential short circuits, overloads, and manage on/off current loading. The sophisticated drop-out fuse cutout comprises of robust insulating insulator supports paired with a durable fuse tube. Its static contacts are firmly mounted on both sides of the insulator support, while the moving contact is expertly installed on the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube is ingeniously constructed with an inner arc-extinguishing tube, encased in an outer shell made of either phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass. Additionally, the load-switching fuse cutout features enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, enhancing its ability to switch on and off the loading current efficiently.
In regular operations, the fuse link is meticulously tightened, securing the fuse tube in a closed position. When a system fault arises, the fault current precipitates an immediate fuse melt, generating an electric arc. This action heats the arc-extinguishing tube, causing a rapid gas release that creates high pressure and directs it along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, triggering the mechanism to unlock and allowing the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning the cutout to an open state. For deliberate switching during cutout loading, the operator uses an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts remain connected. As pulling continues, the auxiliary contacts separate, generating an electric arc. This arc is extended within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, and simultaneously, gas is expelled to extinguish the arc as the current reaches zero.
