Outdoor Porcelain Ceramic Drop-out Fuse Cutout for Electric Power Transformers

Our Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are essential outdoor high voltage protective devices designed for supreme reliability. Primarily linked with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, these devices excel at shielding transformers or lines from both short circuits and overloads, while also managing on/off loading currents. The Drop-out Fuse Cutout is ingeniously designed with insulated insulator supports and a robust fuse tube; static contacts are securely fixed on two sides of the insulator support, with the moving contact expertly installed on both ends of the fuse tube. This fusion of engineering marvels includes an inner arc-extinguishing tube and an outer phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. Our load switching fuse cutout is uniquely equipped with fortified elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring seamless on-off loading current operations.
Under normal operating conditions, the fuse link is securely fastened, maintaining the fuse tube in a closed position. Should a system fault occur, the fault current instantly causes the fuse to melt, producing an electric arc. This activates the arc-extinguishing tube to heat and release a high-pressure gas, effectively blowing the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, triggering the mechanism to lock and the fuse tube to drop out, thereby positioning the cutout in an open state. When operational switching is necessary during cutout loading, operators can utilize the insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged, yet as the auxiliary contact is pulled apart, an electric arc forms. This arc elongates within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, where the enclosed gas explosively extinguishes the arc as the current passes through zero.
