Outdoor Porcelain Ceramic Drop-out Fuse Cutout for Electric Power Transformer

The Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are sophisticated high-voltage outdoor protective devices. Designed to seamlessly connect with incoming feeders of distribution transformers or lines, they primarily safeguard transformers and lines from short circuits, overloads, and manage on/off loading of current. The Drop-out Fuse Cutout is an assembly of insulated insulator supports and a fuse tube, where static contacts are secured on both sides of the insulator support, and the moving contact is mounted at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube is crafted with an internal arc-extinguishing tube and an outer protective layer made from phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. The Load Switching Fuse Cutout is enhanced with robust elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for efficient switching of loading currents.
Under normal conditions, the fuse link, when tightened, secures the fuse tube in a closed position. Upon system faults, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, generating an electric arc. This process heats and expels a significant volume of gas from the arc-extinguishing tube, creating high pressure that helps extinguish the arc. Once the fuse link fails, the moving contact loses its grip, triggering the mechanism to release the fuse tube, placing the cutout in an open position. For switching off during load conditions, an operator uses an insulating bar to disengage the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts are engaged; however, pulling them apart generates an electric arc between auxiliary contacts. This arc is extended within the arc-extinguishing enclosure, which produces a gas burst to effectively quench the arc as the current approaches zero.
