Excelling in durability and safety, our Outdoor Porcelain Ceramic Drop-out Fuse Cutout is engineered for Electric Power Transformers.

Our Drop-out and Load Switching Fuse Cutouts are essential high-voltage protective devices designed for outdoor use. Seamlessly connecting to distribution transformer feeders or lines, these fuse cutouts provide unrivaled protection against short circuits and overloads, ensuring smooth on/off loading operations. The Drop-out Fuse Cutout consists of an insulator support structure, a robust fuse tube, and static contacts affixed to both sides of the insulator support. The innovative design includes moving contacts at each end of the fuse tube, which itself contains an inner arc-extinguishing tube enveloped by a phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass. Additionally, the Load Switching Fuse Cutout features enhanced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for efficient load current management.
Under normal conditions, when the fuse link is secured, the fuse tube maintains a closed position. However, should a fault occur, the fault current instantly melts the fuse, and an electric arc is created, which heats the arc-extinguishing tube. This reaction generates high-pressure gas, effectively expelling the arc through the tube. When the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, allowing the mechanism to unlock and the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning to an open position. For load switching, operators engage an insulating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts maintain contact, but as the auxiliary contact is drawn apart, an electric arc forms between them. This arc stretches across the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, where generated gas extinguishes the arc as the current reaches zero.
