33kv Polymeric Expulsion Fuse Cut Out Switch

The drop-out fuse cutout and load-switching fuse cutout are robust high-voltage protective devices crafted for outdoor use. Seamlessly integrating with the incoming feeder of a distribution transformer or distribution lines, these devices safeguard transformers and lines from potential short circuits and overloads, while managing on/off loading currents. The innovative drop-out fuse cutout features insulated insulator supports, a fuse tube, and static contacts secured on either side of the insulator support. The moving contact is ingeniously installed on the ends of the fuse tube, which itself comprises an interior arc-extinguishing tube housed within an outer phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. The load-switching fuse cutout is enhanced with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure to facilitate the seamless switching of on/off loading currents.
Under normal operating conditions, when the fuse link is tightened, the fuse tube is secured in a closed position. Should a fault occur in the system, the fault current instantly melts the fuse, releasing an electric arc. This causes the arc-extinguishing tube to heat up and emit a substantial amount of gas, generating high pressure and propelling the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, the mechanism locks, and the fuse tube drops out, setting the cutout into an open position. For switching off during cutout loading, operators can employ an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged; however, as the auxiliary contact separates, an electric arc forms between the auxiliary contacts. This arc is lengthened within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, while the arc-extinguishing gas effectively extinguishes the arc as the current crosses zero.
