24kV 100A 200A Distribution Dropout Fuse Cutout with Fuse Link
Our drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout are robust outdoor high voltage protective devices. Designed to integrate seamlessly with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, they are engineered to safeguard transformers or lines against the debilitating effects of short circuits and overloads, along with controlling the on/off loading current. The drop-out fuse cutout is meticulously crafted with insulated insulator supports and a fuse tube. Static contacts are strategically secured on either side of the insulator support, while the moving contact is deftly placed at both ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself is a marvel, constructed from an inner arc-extinguishing tube ensconced in an outer layer of phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. Our load switching fuse cutout is further enhanced with reinforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure to proficiently manage on-off loading currents.
During normal operation, the fuse link, tightly secured, fixes the fuse tube in a closed position. Should a fault occur in the system, the resultant fault current causes the fuse to melt instantaneously, igniting an electric arc. This triggers the arc-extinguishing tube to heat up, releasing copious amounts of gas, generating high pressure, and channeling the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, the mechanism locks, and the fuse tube is released, transitioning the cutout to an open position. For load switching, operators utilize an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact maintains connection to the auxiliary static contact. As the pull continues, the auxiliary contact disconnects, forming an electric arc between them. This arc is elongated within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, where it is effectively blown off by the exploding gas during zero current passage.
