36kV Expulsion Load Break Fuse Cutout

The drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout are innovative outdoor high voltage protective devices designed to safeguard distribution transformers and lines. These devices are expertly connected to the incoming feeder of a distribution transformer or lines, offering robust protection against short circuits, overloads, and facilitating seamless on/off loading operations. Each drop-out fuse cutout is ingeniously crafted with insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube. With static contacts firmly fixed on either side of the insulator support and a mobile contact strategically installed at both ends of the fuse tube, it is built to perform. The fuse tube boasts an inner arc-extinguishing tube, complemented by an outer shell of phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout is further enhanced with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure to efficiently manage on-off loading current transitions.
In normal operation, the fuse link tightly secures the fuse tube to establish a closed position. Should the system encounter faults, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, unleashing an electric arc. This prompts the arc-extinguishing tube to heat up, generating a high-pressure gas that expels the arc through the tube. As the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its secure hold, causing the mechanism to lock and the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning the cutout to an open position. For switching off during cutout loading, operators skillfully employ an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts remain engaged. As pulling continues, the auxiliary contact disengages, igniting an electric arc between the auxiliary contacts. This arc extends in the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap while the arc-extinguishing gas swiftly extinguishes it during the current's zero-pass, ensuring a smooth and safe operation.
