33kV 100A High Voltage Fuse Cutout Switch

The Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are essential high-voltage protective devices designed for outdoor use. They are crucial for the safety and reliability of the electrical distribution system. By connecting with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, these devices serve as guardians, protecting against short circuits and overloads while enabling on/off loading of current. The Drop-out Fuse Cutout consists of robust insulator supports and a durable fuse tube, with static contacts securely attached to the insulator support ends. The moving contact is strategically positioned at the ends of the fuse tube, which includes an inner arc-extinguishing tube made from either phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass. The Load Switching Fuse Cutout enhances operation with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for efficient loading current switching.
During normal operation, the fuse link holds the fuse tube in a secure closed position. When a fault occurs, the fault current causes the fuse to melt instantly, resulting in the generation of an electric arc. This triggers the arc-extinguishing tube to heat up and release a significant amount of gas, creating high pressure that propels the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its holding tension, unlocking the mechanism and allowing the fuse tube to drop, opening the cutout. To switch off during loading, operators use an insulated operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts remain engaged. Upon separation of the auxiliary contacts, an electric arc forms, which is elongated in the arc-extinguishing enclosure. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing gas effectively extinguishes the arc as the current zeroes out.
