Outdoor Porcelain Ceramic Drop-out Fuse Cutout for Electric Power Transformer

Our Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are vital high-voltage protective devices meticulously designed for outdoor use. Engineered to seamlessly connect with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines, these devices are paramount in safeguarding transformers or lines against potential short circuits and overloads, while ensuring effective on/off load current management. Constructed with precision, the drop-out fuse cutout consists of robust insulator supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts firmly affixed on both sides of the insulator support, and a moving contact strategically installed at the ends of the fuse tube. The inner workings of the fuse tube include an arc-extinguishing tube encased in either an outer phenolic compound paper tube or an epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout is further enhanced with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, adeptly facilitating the switching of on-off loading currents.
In normal operation, the fuse link is meticulously tightened, securing the fuse tube and creating a closed circuit. However, when system faults occur, the fault current rapidly melts the fuse, instigating an electric arc. This process heats the arc-extinguishing tube, causing it to release a substantial amount of gas, thereby generating high pressure and propelling the electric arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, triggering the mechanism to lock and the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning the cutout to an open position. For switching off during load cutout, operators use an insulating bar to manipulate the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts remain engaged, but as the contact is pulled, the auxiliary contacts separate, producing an electric arc. This arc elongates within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, while simultaneously, the enclosure releases explosion gases to effectively extinguish the arc as the current approaches zero.
