11kv-15kv Porcelain Expulsion Drop-out Fuse Cutout

Drop-out fuse cutouts and load switching fuse cutouts are premier outdoor high voltage protective devices. These essential components are strategically connected to the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines to safeguard against short circuits, overloads, and manage on/off loading currents. The drop-out fuse cutout features a robust design comprising insulate insulator supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts securely fixed on both sides and moving contacts elegantly installed at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself is an engineering marvel, constructed from an internal arc-extinguishing tube, enveloped by an outer layer of phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout elevates performance with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring seamless on-off loading current transitions.
In normal operating conditions, the fuse link tightly secures the fuse tube into a closed position. Should a fault occur, the resultant fault current swiftly melts the fuse, generating an electric arc which heats the arc-extinguishing tube to release a significant volume of gas, creating high pressure that propels through the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its grip, triggering a mechanism that releases the fuse tube, transitioning the cutout to an open state. For intentional disconnection during loaded operation, an operator utilizes an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts maintain contact, and as separation occurs, an electric arc forms between the auxiliary contacts, elongating within the arc-extinguishing enclosure. Simultaneously, gas expulsion ensures arc extinguishment as current reaches zero, completing the operation safely.
