Outdoor Porcelain Ceramic Drop-out Fuse Cutout, expertly designed for Electric Power Transformers offering reliable protection and unmatched performance.

The Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are state-of-the-art outdoor high voltage protective devices. These essential components, linking to the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, provide crucial protection against short circuits and overloads while managing on/off load currents. The sophisticated design includes insulated support structures and a fuse tube, with static contacts affixed at both ends of the support. The dynamic contact is connected at each end of the fuse tube, which features an internal arc-extinguishing mechanism. The outer structure is crafted from either a phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load-switching variant is enhanced with robust elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring seamless on-off load current operation.
Under normal conditions, the fuse link fastens the fuse tube in place, maintaining a closed position. Upon system faults, the fault current promptly melts the fuse, creating an electric arc. This action triggers the arc-extinguishing tube to heat up and discharge gas, generating high pressure that propels the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses tension, locking the mechanism and allowing the fuse tube to drop, transitioning the cutout to an open position. For switching off while under load, operators use an insulating bar to manipulate the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts remain engaged. As the pulling continues, the auxiliary contact separates, causing an electric arc that extends within the arc-extinguishing enclosure. Concurrently, the arc-extinguishing process expels gas to effectively extinguish the arc when the current reaches zero.
