Experience the pinnacle of outdoor high voltage protection with our drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout. Designed to seamlessly integrate with distribution transformers or lines, these devices shield against short circuits and overloads with reliability. Crafted with precision, the fuse cutout combines insulated supports and a robust fuse tube. Static contacts secure each end of the insulator, while a movable contact ensures seamless operation. The tube, constructed with an arc-extinguishing core and encased in either phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass, ensures effective current management. Furthermore, the load switching variant enhances safety with auxiliary contacts and an innovative arc-extinguishing enclosure, facilitating secure load current toggling.
During normal operation, the fuse link holds the fuse tube securely in a closed state. Should a fault arise, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, generating an electric arc. This triggers the arc-extinguishing tube to release gas, creating pressure to extinguish the arc efficiently. Once the fuse link is melted, the moving contact loses its tension, unlocking the mechanism and allowing the fuse tube to drop, thus opening the circuit. To manually disengage under load, operators utilize an insulating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary contacts remain engaged, but as pulling persists, the auxiliary contact separates, creating an arc. This arc is methodically lengthened in the enclosure gap, while the enclosure's gas swiftly extinguishes it as the current reaches zero.
