11kV Dropout Fuse Cutout DOFC Switch for Electric Transformers

Our drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout serve as high-voltage protective devices designed for outdoor use. Specifically engineered to connect with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, they offer robust protection against short circuits and overloads. The design features insulated supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts affixed to the insulator supports and a moving contact at the ends of the fuse tube. Constructed of an interior arc-extinguishing tube and an exterior phenolic or epoxy glass tube, our load switching fuse cutout includes enhanced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for efficient on-off loading current.
Under normal conditions, the fuse link maintains the fuse tube in a closed position. Should a fault occur, the fault current causes the fuse to melt, generating an electric arc. This heats the arc-extinguishing tube, producing high-pressure gas to suppress the arc. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses tension, causing the mechanism to unlock and the fuse tube to fall, transitioning the cutout to an open position. For switching off during load, operators use an insulated bar to disengage the moving contact. An electrical arc forms between auxiliary contacts, which is then extended in the arc-extinguishing enclosure and extinguished by gas during zero current passage.
