Introducing our cutting-edge Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout, designed for high-voltage outdoor applications. Perfectly suited for connecting incoming feeders of distribution transformers or lines, these devices offer unparalleled protection against short circuits and overloads, while expertly handling on/off loading currents. The drop-out fuse cutout showcases an innovative design featuring insulate insulator supports paired with a robust fuse tube. It boasts static contacts fixed on either side of the insulator, with a mobile contact gracing each end of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself is a marvel, comprised of an inner arc-extinguishing tube encased in an outer layer of phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. Our load switching fuse cutout elevates its capabilities with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, promising seamless on-off current switching.
During standard operations, the fuse link is securely fastened to the fuse tube, maintaining a closed position. In the event of a system fault, the resulting fault current promptly melts the fuse, triggering an electrical arc. This causes the arc-extinguishing tube to heat up, releasing a substantial amount of gas and creating high pressure that propels the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses tension, prompting the mechanism to lock and the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning the cutout to an open position. For switching off during load conditions, an operator uses an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged. As the auxiliary contact separates, an electric arc forms between them, which is then lengthened within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, efficiently extinguished by the gas explosion as the current reaches zero.
