24kv Polymeric Expulsion Fuse Cut Out Switch
Our drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout are expertly engineered outdoor high voltage protective devices. Designed to connect with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, their primary function is to safeguard transformers and lines from the dangers of short circuits, overloads, and manage the on/off loading current. Each drop-out fuse cutout is constructed with durable insulator supports and a robust fuse tube. The static contacts are securely fixed on both sides of the insulator support, while the moving contact is strategically placed at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself comprises an interior arc-extinguishing tube and is encased in an outer shell made of phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass. The load switching fuse cutout is enhanced with reinforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure to ensure efficient on-off loading current operations.
Under normal operating conditions, the fuse link secures the fuse tube in a closed position. When a system fault occurs, the resulting fault current swiftly melts the fuse, creating an electrical arc. This process heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing a significant amount of gas, causing high pressure to blow along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, triggering the mechanism that locks and drops the fuse tube, transitioning the cutout into an open position. To switch off during cutout loading, an operator uses an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged, but as the pull continues, the auxiliary contact separates, creating an electric arc. The arc is then extended in the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, while the arc-extinguishing gas effectively eliminates the arc as the current reaches zero.
