33kV 100A High Voltage Fuse Cutout Switch

The drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout are essential outdoor high voltage protective devices. Seamlessly connecting with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines, they serve a critical function in safeguarding transformers and lines against short circuits and overloads, and for enabling on/off loading current operations. The drop-out fuse cutout is ingeniously designed with insulating supports and a robust fuse tube. Static contacts are securely fixed on both sides of the insulator support, while the moving contact is strategically placed at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube includes an inner arc-extinguishing tube, enveloped by an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube, ensuring durability and effective operation. The load switching fuse cutout is equipped with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an advanced arc-extinguishing enclosure, perfect for managing on-off loading currents.
During regular operation, the fuse link tightly secures the fuse tube, maintaining a closed position. In the event of a system fault, the fault current causes the fuse to melt instantly, igniting an electric arc. This reaction heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing a significant amount of gas, creating high pressure that propels the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, triggering the mechanism to release and the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning the cutout to an open position. For switching off during load conditions, operators can use an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain connected, but as pulling continues, the auxiliary contact disconnects. An electric arc forms between the separating auxiliary contacts, which is then elongated across the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. The arc-extinguishing system efficiently expels gas to extinguish the arc as the current drops to zero.
