Discover the Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout, an outdoor high voltage protective device that stands as a sentinel for your power infrastructure. Seamlessly connect it with the incoming feeder of your distribution transformer or lines to shield your systems from the dangers of short circuits and overloads, effectively managing on/off loading currents. This advanced device comprises insulating supports and a robust fuse tube, with static contacts firmly mounted on both sides, while the dynamic moving contact finds its place at the fuse tube's ends. The fuse tube itself is an engineering marvel, crafted from an inner arc-extinguishing tube, clad in either a tough phenolic compound paper or resilient epoxy glass. The load switching fuse cutout is enhanced with reinforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring swift and reliable on-off loading current operations.
Under normal conditions, the fuse link secures the fuse tube in a closed position. When a fault occurs, the fault current causes the fuse to melt instantaneously, generating an electric arc. This heats the arc-extinguishing tube, creating an explosion of gas that builds high pressure, effectively displacing the arc along the tube. Upon the melting of the fuse link, the moving contact loses its tension, triggering the mechanism to unlock and allowing the fuse tube to drop out, shifting the cutout to an open position. For switching off during cutout loading, the operator uses an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain connected, but as pulling continues, the auxiliary contact separates, forming an electric arc. This arc is extended in the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, while the explosion of gas blows off the arc as the current reaches zero.
