Our Drop-Out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are essential outdoor, high-voltage protective devices. Engineered for connection with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, they offer unparalleled protection against short circuits and overloads while managing on/off loading currents. The design boasts insulate insulator supports and a sophisticated fuse tube, with static contacts firmly fixed on either side of the insulator support and a dynamic moving contact attached to the fuse tube's ends. The fuse tube integrates an arc-extinguishing tube, encased in either a phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout enhances functionality with reinforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an innovative arc-extinguishing enclosure for seamless on/off current load switching.
Under normal conditions, the fuse link keeps the fuse tube securely in a closed position. Should a system fault occur, the fault current causes the fuse to melt swiftly, generating an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing a large amount of gas. This process creates high pressure, effectively blowing the arc along the tube. Post the fuse link melt, the absence of tensile strength unlocks the mechanism, causing the fuse tube to drop out, placing the cutout in an open state. For switching off during loading, operators can utilize an insulating operating bar to disengage the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts remain connected, but as pulling continues, the auxiliary contact separates, resulting in an electric arc. This arc is extended in the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, with simultaneous arc-extinguishing gas discharge to extinguish the arc as the current reaches zero.
