11kv Dropout Fuse Cutout DOFC Switch for Electric Transformer
The Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout represent advanced, high-voltage protective devices for outdoor use, designed to seamlessly integrate with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines. Their primary function is to safeguard transformers and lines against short circuits and overloads while managing load current on/off switching. The dropout fuse cutout is meticulously crafted with insulated insulator supports, a robust fuse tube, and static and moving contacts. The innovative fuse tube features an inner arc-extinguishing tube surrounded by a durable phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube, while the load switching fuse cutout enhances performance with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and a specialized arc-extinguishing enclosure for efficient current switching.
In normal operation, the fuse link secures the fuse tube in a closed position. Upon a fault in the system, the resulting fault current promptly melts the fuse, producing an electric arc. This occurrence heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing a significant volume of gas and creating a high-pressure flow along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, causing the mechanism to lock and the fuse tube to drop, transitioning the cutout to an open position. For load switching, operators use an insulating bar to pull the moving contact, initially maintaining connection with the main and auxiliary static contacts. As pulling continues, the auxiliary contacts separate, forming an electric arc, which is extended within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. The arc-extinguishing process expels gas, effectively extinguishing the arc as the current approaches zero.
