Our Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are expertly designed outdoor high voltage protective devices. These are essential components meant to seamlessly connect with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines, offering robust protection against short circuits and overloads, as well as facilitating on/off loading currents. The Drop-out Fuse Cutout is ingeniously crafted with insulated insulator supports and a state-of-the-art fuse tube. Static contacts are securely fixed on either side of the insulator support, while dynamic moving contacts are installed at both ends of the fuse tube. The innovative fuse tube comprises an internal arc-extinguishing tube, encased in a durable outer phenolic compound paper tube or rugged epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout is further enhanced with reinforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure designed for efficient switching of on-off loading currents.
During normal operation, the fuse link tightly secures the fuse tube, maintaining a closed position. However, in the event of a system fault, the fault current instantaneously melts the fuse, creating an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, causing a rapid expulsion of gas. This generates high pressure, propelling the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its retaining strength, triggering the mechanism to lock and the fuse tube to drop out, shifting the cutout to an open position. For switching off during cutout loading, operators can use an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged, but as pulling continues, the auxiliary contact separates, producing an arc that extends within the arc-extinguishing enclosure. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing gas is released, extinguishing the arc as the current reaches zero.
