24kv Polymeric Expulsion Fuse Cut Out Switch
The Drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout are paramount outdoor high-voltage protective devices. Designed to seamlessly integrate with incoming feeders of distribution transformers or lines, they primarily safeguard against short circuits, overloads, and facilitate the on/off loading of current. The drop-out fuse cutout features insulate insulator supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts secured on both sides of the insulator support, while a movable contact is mounted on the ends of the fuse tube. This fuse tube is meticulously crafted with an inner arc-extinguishing tube and an outer layer of robust phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout is enhanced with resilient elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring efficient on-off loading current switching.
Under normal operation, the fuse link keeps the fuse tube securely in a closed position. When a fault occurs, the resulting fault current causes the fuse to melt instantly, generating an electric arc. This reaction heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing a surge of gas that creates high pressure, propelling the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link is melted, the moving contact loses its tension, the mechanism locks, and the fuse tube drops out, transitioning the cutout to an open position. For operational switching during load cutout, the operator uses an insulating operating bar to disengage the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain connected. Upon further pulling, the auxiliary contact separates, causing an electric arc to form and elongate in the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, where the arc-extinguishing gas effectively extinguishes the arc as the current crosses zero.
