33kv Polymeric Expulsion Fuse Cut Out Switch

The drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout are premium outdoor high-voltage protective devices. Seamlessly connecting with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, they primarily serve to shield transformers or lines from potential short circuits and overloads, as well as manage on/off loading currents. The design features insulate insulator supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts firmly fixed on both ends of the insulator support and a moving contact installed on the fuse tube's ends. The fuse tube boasts an inner arc-extinguishing tube, encased within an outer shell of phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass. Enhanced by elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, the load-switching fuse cutout adeptly manages on-off loading currents.
During normal operation, the fuse link secures the fuse tube in a closed position. Should a system fault occur, the fault current triggers the fuse to melt instantaneously, generating an electric arc. This heats the arc-extinguishing tube, causing it to release a substantial amount of gas, resulting in high pressure that propels the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, the mechanism locks, and the fuse tube drops, placing the cutout in the open position. For switching off during load, operators use an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged. As pulling continues, the auxiliary contacts separate, creating an electric arc. This arc elongates through the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, while the enclosure expels gas to extinguish the arc as the current approaches zero.
