24kv Polymeric Expulsion Fuse Cut Out Switch
The drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout represent the pinnacle of outdoor high voltage protection technology. These devices are strategically designed to seamlessly integrate with the incoming feeders of distribution transformers or distribution lines. They excel in safeguarding transformers and lines from destructive short circuits and overloads, while also offering seamless on/off current loading capabilities. The ingenious design consists of insulative insulator supports and a robust fuse tube. Static contacts are securely affixed on either side of the insulator support, while the moving contact is precisely installed at both ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube features an internal arc-extinguishing tube, encased in an outer layer of durable phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass. The load switching fuse cutout enhances this offering by providing enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure to ensure safe switching on and off of the loading current.
In normal operational conditions, the fuse link tightens the fuse tube into a secure, fixed position. Should a fault occur within the system, the resultant fault current promptly melts the fuse, triggering an electrical arc. This action heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing a substantial volume of gas, creating high pressure that propels the arc along the tube. Following the melting of the fuse link, the moving contact loses its tensile strength, causing the mechanism to lock and the fuse tube to drop out, thereby transitioning the cutout to an open position. For loading switch-off, operators utilize an insulating operating bar to disengage the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts remain engaged, but as they are pulled apart, an electric arc ignites. This arc is elongated within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, where simultaneous gas explosions effectively extinguish the arc as the current passes through zero.
