Outdoor Porcelain Ceramic Drop-out Fuse Cutout for Electric Power Transformers

Our state-of-the-art Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are outdoor high-voltage protective devices designed to safeguard distribution transformers or lines against short circuits and overloads, while enabling on/off load current transitions. The Drop-out Fuse Cutout features robust insulator supports and a sophisticated fuse tube assembly. It comprises static contacts anchored on insulator supports and a sophisticated moving contact system at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube integrates an advanced arc-extinguishing core, encased either in a phenolic compound paper tube or an epoxy glass tube, ensuring optimal performance. The load switching fuse cutout is equipped with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and a sophisticated arc-extinguishing enclosure for seamless on/off load current switching.
During normal operation, a securely tightened fuse link maintains the fuse tube in a closed position. When a fault arises, the fault current causes the fuse to melt instantaneously, initiating an electric arc. This triggers the arc-extinguishing tube to heat up and release a large volume of gas, generating high pressure that expels the arc through the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, unlocking the mechanism and causing the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning the cutout to an open position. When load switching is required, operators can use an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged. As the pull continues, the auxiliary contacts separate, generating an electric arc. This arc extends within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, while the arc-extinguishing mechanism releases gas to extinguish the arc as the current passes zero.
