36kV High Voltage Porcelain Fuse Cutout Switch

The drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout represent cutting-edge outdoor high voltage protective devices. These components are adeptly designed to connect with the incoming feeder of a distribution transformer or distribution lines, serving as a robust shield against short circuits and overloads, while efficiently managing on/off loading currents. Each drop-out fuse cutout is ingeniously constructed with insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube. The static contacts are securely anchored on both sides of the insulator support, while a moving contact is strategically positioned at the ends of the fuse tube. This sophisticated system includes an arc-extinguishing tube within, made from a durable phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube for enhanced reliability. Moreover, the load switching fuse cutout is equipped with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring seamless on-off loading current operations.
Under normal operating conditions, the fuse link tightly secures the fuse tube, maintaining a stable closed position. In the event of a system fault, the fault current instantly melts the fuse, generating an electric arc. This prompts the arc-extinguishing tube to heat up, releasing a significant amount of gas and creating high pressure, effectively extinguishing the arc within the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, triggering the mechanism to release the fuse tube, thereby transitioning the cutout to an open position. For load switching, an operator uses an insulating operating bar to disengage the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary contacts remain engaged, but as the auxiliary contact is withdrawn, an electric arc forms between the auxiliary contacts. This arc elongates within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, and as current crosses zero, the arc-extinguishing gas efficiently quells the arc.
