Outdoor Porcelain Ceramic Drop-Out Fuse Cutout for Electric Power Transformer

The Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are sophisticated outdoor high voltage protective devices. They are intricately designed to connect with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines, playing a crucial role in safeguarding transformers and lines against short circuits, overloads, and managing the on/off loading of current. Each Drop-out Fuse Cutout is skillfully assembled with insulated insulator supports and a fuse tube. The static contacts are meticulously positioned on both sides of the insulator support while the moving contact is expertly installed on the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself is composed of an interior arc-extinguishing tube, enveloped by an outer phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. The Load Switching Fuse Cutout is further equipped with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure to facilitate seamless switching on and off of loading current.
Under normal operating conditions, the fuse link is securely tightened, ensuring the fuse tube remains in a closed position. However, when system faults occur, the fault current rapidly melts the fuse, resulting in an electrifying arc. This process heats the arc-extinguishing tube, generating a significant volume of gas, which in turn creates high pressure to blow the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, the mechanism disengages, and the fuse tube drops out, shifting the cutout to an open position. For switching off during cutout loading, operators use an insulating operating bar to disengage the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged. As pulling continues, the auxiliary contact separates, creating an electric arc. This arc is then elongated across the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, while the arc-extinguishing mechanism explosively generates gas, extinguishing the arc as the current passes through zero.
